17-85 lens, Orton technique
This is my first go at the Orton technique - Wow I'm loving it. I took this pic this morning on the way to work. It was literally a 30 second snap and pretty dull looking until I did the Orton on it.
This area is called Lake Pertobe. It's just over the dunes from the main part of Lady Bay. It was a swamp until about 20 years ago they converted it into a system of lakes and park land. It is huge and really beautiful. There are three adventure playgrounds, BBQ's, heaps of open space and lots of bird life. This part of the lake (near the beach) is always really busy, especially in holiday season, but around the back of the lakes it's like a wilderness, really quiet and peaceful.

Very tranquil looking and the description gives you a little look inside. Good Job!!
Patti - I think the Orton looks great! I love seeing your posts - I always look for them first!
I love it! It's a very cool shot! The Orton technique really makes those colors pop!
I want to go there. It looks so peaceful.
You took something I would have gone right by and made a very interesting photo from it. I love the colors in it. Beautiful just as it is, but I'd love to see it too as a 10x20 or 10x30 shape with the entire sky cropped out. I think that the way you captured the boats, and the strong colors, make them enough of a design statement in themselves.
Thanks for the comments. I'll have to try the different crop. I wasn't sure where to take the sky out or leave it in, it was a very grey sky.
Terrific shot - Orton technique really adds to it.
Great job....love the pic!
I must try that tech. one day soon!!
I think this turned out great with the Orton technique. I love the colors!
