Night light

this was a bit of a play around. The pic was taken at about 10:30pm, so it was pitch black outside. I set a long exposure and used a small torch to illuminate the old hydrangea heads. it didn't turn out so great, but it was fun. The camera wouldn't auto focus coz of the lack of light, so I used manual focus and kinda guesstimated how far way I was from the plant. I think I was lucky that it wasn't too far out. Next time I would probably go for a smaller aperture and longer ss, or even a higher iso. I guess I could also just take the pic earlier when there was still some light around but that would require me to be more organised.

iso 200, f 4, ss 15 sec, torchlight

I really like this. Unique-and I like the way you experimented. That is what this challenge is all about. You did a wonderful job on this.

You should have set the light closer. then got your focus. Then move it back. Then you could have done all the other things you already mentioned. I do love the way the sky looks. I can see what it could have been. I think you should try it again until you get it. You would have toget rid of the hursh light though.

I really like this, the color looks great, like the purplish sky. Great experiment.

Interesting shot. I do like the silhouette of the fence and tree in the shot. The sky is a cool color.

I think it's pretty cool looking, and you still managed to get a pretty good focus going. I need to do more experimenting.. that's the real key to learning!
