soft and subtle
I went down to the beach this evening to take some sunset pics. The sunset was lovely - really bright oranges and reds with nice reflections on the wet sand, But thn I turned around and saw this scene. i'm really happy with the soft, pastel colours. I tried to set a long exposure to get that smoky water look, I would have liked it a bit longer still. the smaller aperture and grey skies really make the dust on my sensors stand out. Took me ages to clone out all the spots. I am really going to have to do something about them. So tell me what you think, does this pic work or should have I stuck with the more traditional sunset pics. Post processing -> soft light layer at about 70%, slight increase in saturation, adjusted the levels of the rocks a bit and ran it through neat image to reduce the noise.

I've seen a lot of growth in your work. You are doing great!! Keep up the good work.
I love the pinks you can see here!! Great shot!
I guess I prefer your other sunsets - more traditional - only becuasd, without reading I totally would have had no clue what this was. I do love the colors in the water though :)
I like the pinks and grays, not your traditional vivid sunset shot, very interesting and soft.
I think it's good to try something a bit different and the colors in this makes you look twice.
The horizon is so good, not dead center and boring, but nicely placed. You've totally found your niche!
Oh, and know about the specs of dust on the sensor....ACK!
I love the colors here, but I'm not overly fond of the comp. I think it's beacuse for me, because the shore is too distant so be distinct. Or it is lost to the overpowering sky and water- which is a cool underlying message, though.
very beautiful photo. Looks like it has been touched with chalk. Great photo.
I love the color, the pink is beautiful!
I always love looking at your pictures!!!
