Swim between the flags

iso 200, f 9, ss 1/250, polarising filter

It was such a beautiful day today that I decided inside of trying to get the perfect pic, I would just take the kids swimming instead. Sometimes you have to live the moment instead of trying to capture it.

Thank you everyone for your comments and CC yesterday. These next two are some re-crops of yesterday's cricket pic. I also also tried to darken the whites a bit. What do you think?

Do you use your polarising filter often? I've just gotten one but haven't played with it yet.

I like that you said sometimes you've just got to live the moment instead of photographing it. I'm trying to do that so much more.

Renee, I use the polarising filter a fair bit (we have lots of water here). Sometimes though I find it makes thinks too dark. I really want one that has the same brown tint as my sunnies. I also have a habit of forgetting to take it off.

The colors are gorgeous on your beach pic-perfect imo! Way to remember what it's all really about!

I also really like what you've done with yesterday's pic. The whites have so much more detail in these. Well done!! As for the crop--I don't like the one with the entire red guy in the pic. But, I can't tell which I like better--white guy alone or with part of red guy in it. ?? Yikes--tough decision. I do like that in white guy alone, he is larger and fills more of the frame. TFS these!!

That's a pretty beach pic! Beautiful colors!

I like the whites better but still prefer to have the guy in the red partly in the shot. I think it shows more action than just your kid.

I love your beach picture! I think you need to have it framed as a 10X20 print! The colors are great!!!

Oh...I would love to be on the beach right now! It is 3 degrees F here, but with the wind chill it is -21!! Thanks for posting a sunny, warm photo today! :) The colors are gorgeous!

i really like the crop of only the batter. I don't know why but maybe because he takes up more space.

The beach one looks great. I love the color of the water and sky. I use my polarizing filter all summer long. :) I like the crop better today on your sports picture. You could also try a horizontal crop on the guy in white--that might work too. Great job!
