The dirty angel

This is one of the main landmarks here in Warrnambool. This statue sits on a hill at the end of the main street, over looking the lake and the sea. I lived here for a few years before I worked out why the locals call it the dirty angel (it's all in the perspective).
The pics aren't great. I ran a mignight sepia action on them all for a bit of uniformity. The ones with the dark blue sky are taken with the sun behind me, the overexposed sky is looking into the sun.

If you are easily offended stop now

And that's why it's called the dirty angel.

AWESOME JOB!! I love the 3rd one. Ok, call me goofy, but I don't see what is going on in the 3rd!! (maybe it looks like she holding something by her hoo-ha? lol)

There's nothing going on in #3(well I don't think there is), she's holding a wreath. it's the last one that is the worry.I think she is maybe a he.

Great job. LOL at the dirty angel title. One of those local town stories that are so great.

:) LOL! These are really nice pictures! I do kinda wish it wasn't a "dirty" angel because the sillouette picture ROCKS.

Too funny! Gorgeous photos though. I love the midnight sepia action on them!!

Great shots! Really like the darkness of the last one...quess a sillouette. And it made me LOL. Reminds me of the statute at Disneyland (Mickey and Walt D). If you walk on the side of Main Street that Walt is on and look at the statute from the side it looks like he is "happy" from Mickey's nose. Sorry if I offended anyone. Just a funny thing about D-land.

I wish I'd known about that when I was there taking photos of her, I would've got one from the right angle! love the midnight sepia action on them and I like the one looking at her from the main street..how uplifting must it be to be driving along and look up and see her at the end of the road, way up high above everyone.

anyway, i think you did great with your shots, love the compositions of them all, and i love the sillouette!
good choice with the MidSep action, it gives it a softer look to them.
tfs!

Awesome. I love them all. The sky colors you captured are wonderful. The different actions work well. I like your entire story and lead in - great job and I liked the whole twist and perspective - you definitely get the A+ on this!

wow...the last one is hilarious. But it's a great composition, the way the shadow works it. Great job! (even for a dirty angel:)

Love he dirty angel, it's one of those things I keep meaning to get a shot of when I'm home and never seem to get around to. You can tell people about it but it just has to be seen. Gorgeous shot.
