My little chookie and a couple more sunset pics

First up, do you call chickens chooks in the US or is it just an Aussie thing? Anyway, this is one of my little girls. I have two. I only got them a few weeks ago and they are just starting to lay. The kids love collecting the eggs. I would love to have more and do the whole self-sufficiency thing, but for now I have to make do with 2 chooks, a small vegetable garden and a few fruit trees.

Are you sick of sunsets yet. My DH is, but I love them so here are some from today. The first one was taken from my backyard. For the second two I drove up to a small hill near here, but by that time the best light was probably gone.

I have only heard of them being called chickens. Beautiful photos.

My MIL just picked up 45 little baby chicks. I guess 10 of them are Easter Egg Chicks that will lay colored eggs?

Anyway, she lives 10 hours from me and I really wish I could get some shots of those fuzzy adorable little gals.

Stunning sunsets. I love your sunsets pics, so please continue posting them! I have never heard the term chook, but its sounds cute.

p.s. My daughter is a Josephine - I decided on the Josie early on. When I tried calling her Joey she got upset. She's only 2 1/2 but acts like shes 5.

Only know them as chickens here. I really love your sunset photos. Especially the first one. Love how puffy the clouds look. TFS

Wow, Patti. I have to tell you I'm awfully stressed, and those sunset photos simply pulled it right out of me with a big ol' sigh. Fantastic emotion you've captured in those pretty oranges and reds...
