I went of a drive this morning to a local nature reserve and took these first two pics. i was hoping to get some koala photos, but all the koalas were hiding.

This is what most local Gum Trees look like. The ones with the big impressive flowers tend to be a lot smaller trees. I think I over sharpened this pic - it kinda looks funny

This is an old pic (Jan 2005). These are Flooded Gum. They are one of the most common trees up where my Mum lives (we don't have them down here). I love how they are so tall and white and straight - they always remind me of my parent's farm.

Cool trees. I wish you would have gotten some koalas in the shot too...how fun would that be. Love the white trees. They look so crisp against the green leaves and blue sky. Great graphic photo.

Awesome shots!! Thanks so much for sharing these... Of course, the flowers are gorgeous. And, the shots of the trees are spectacular, too. My favorite is the flooded gums. The thin lines they make are just awesome. --really like your perspective on that one. Glad they have sentimental value to you. That makes that pic extra special!

I've realy enjoyed looking at your gum tree pictures! Everytime I look at them, it reminds of that old "Kookaburra" song I learned when I was a little girl! :)

Wow, at first I thought you overexposed the last picture until I read that the trunks are white. Very nice shot... shows the height. I'd love to see some koalas... gotta go to the Zoo for that here!
