New lens
iso 400, f 18, ss 1.3 sec
Today i got a new lens (it's actually for my DH, but I'm going to steal it sometimes) - Canon 100mm 2.8 macro. Unfortunately I didn't get home from work until late so i only had a chance to play with it inside tonight. This was probably my best photo. Its very noisy and not really sharp, but it certainly is close up. I can't wait til tomorrow afternoon and I can have a play outside. The shallow DOF takes some getting used to. I used my tripod and flash with this. The flower is the centre of a mini Gerbera.

Woot-woot!!! You will love your new lens, it's one of my favorites to play with. good job for your first shot, can't wait to see what the landscape queen will come up with next, I'm on pins and needles;)
Oh, and of course...in case you didn't figure it out, you're the landscape queen;)
Wow, what a difference a lens makes, huh! Very cool! Can't wait to see what all you'll be able to do with it!
Hey there! How are you doing :) Congrats on the lens. I got a good crack out of reading the previous post (with your wish for the 100 mm macro) and then getting it a week later. Wishes really do come true! Hope you had a great summer!
hi Patti- haven't seen you in a while!
I'm jealous- I have my eye on that lens. You did well with your first round of playing. Can't wait to see what you do with your (okay, dh's) new toy!

Woohoo, I'm wiping drool off the keyboard, lucky you, must be lovely to have a DH that's into photography as well, justifies the buys if you are both going to use the equipment. Lovely shot can't wait to see more.
